The aim is to bifurcate its mass market products from the high-end luxury cars. At present, there are two models on sale via the premium outlet chain – Cyberster and M9. The former is a two-seater electric sportscars, while the latter is a large electric MPV. Needless to say, the vehicles have found influential personalities as their owners. The most recent eminent celeb to own the MG M9 electric MPV is Shankar Mahadevan. The music maestro took to social media to share the details of his latest acquisition. We know that he is one of the biggest names in the Indian music industry. He has been an integral part of the iconic Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio. In the last many years, they have been giving us some blockbuster music in the movies. The fact that he splurged on an MG car is proof that he wants to test the MG car.
Hema Malini

Then we have Hema Malini on this list. Note that she was among the first known celebrities to own the electric MPV. The legendary actor needs no introduction. She has been one of the most iconic personalities in the Indian entertainment industry for decades now. In addition to being a veteran movie star, she is also a prominent politician.  In fact, she is currently serving as a Member of the Lok Sabha from the BJP. She has been representing the Mathura constituency since 2014. Her images with the new electric MPV went viral a month ago, where she looked elated to experience the practical MPV.
KL Rahul

A couple of weeks ago, I encountered the news of KL Rahul being the first Indian cricketer to get his hands on the MG M9. Going by the images online, it becomes clear that he took the delivery of the electric MPV at his residence. That is something a lot of celebs do. Generally, the trend of new luxury cars is started by cricketers and Bollywood stars in India. It shall be interesting to see if KL Rahul inspires other cricketers to go for MG cars in the coming months as well.
The MG M9 comes with a massive 90 kWh NMC battery pack, which supplies power to an electric motor to generate a healthy 245 PS and 350 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. MG claims an MIDC-rated range of 548 km on a single charge. Understandably, the real-world range will depend on the usage. Apart from that, it takes around 30 minutes to charge the battery from 30% to 80%. It is available in a single fully-loaded avatar with a price tag of Rs 69.90 lakh, ex-showroom.

For the uninitiated, Ishaan is the son of the actors Rajesh Khattar and Neelima Azeem. In the last few years, he has delivered some incredible blockbuster movies and established himself as a promising young actor in the industry. Perhaps Dhadak was one of his biggest films, which gained him immense popularity among the masses.
Lakshya Lalwani

Finally, Lakshya Lalwani was also seen recently with his stunning MG Cyberster in Mumbai. Fresh from the success of ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’, he decided to splurge on the exotic sportscar. That is something we have seen over the years. Driving a two-seater convertible sportscar in Mumbai would naturally not go unnoticed and the paparazzi were quick to click some photographs. These are the latest Indian celebs with MG cars.
The MG Cyberster is not just a pretty sportscar but also possesses enough grit to post a decent performance to excite the driving enthusiasts. Powering the EV is a slim 77 kWh battery pack with a thickness of just 110 mm. This propels the EV for a claimed MIDC range of an impressive 580 km on a single charge. The battery powers two electric motors for an all-wheel-drive configuration. The total power and torque outputs stand at 510 PS and 725 Nm, respectively. This allows a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.2 seconds.
