The easiest way to modify any car is by installing customized alloy wheels and they have the potential to change the entire outlook of the vehicle.

The new Mahindra Scorpio Classic has been spotted with massive 20-inch aftermarket alloys for the first time. Scorpio is a rugged SUV with utilitarian characteristics. To enhance its appearance even further, these humungous alloy wheels are quite apt. The SUV is associated with being a workhorse for Mahindra for a long time. In its latest avatar, Mahindra has added a few aesthetics and convenience features to make it modern and appeal to new audiences.

The black Scorpio Classic is the new variant with a stylish exterior. The silver skid plate at the front and chrome garnish on the side door panel enhance its masculinity. However, the main highlight remains the customized 20-inch alloy wheels that are painted white. The colour complements the black SUV really well. Due to these alloys, the height of the SUV seems to be increased even more. The other aspects like the badge on the fender accentuate its SUV-ish traits.

However, it must be understood that such oversized tyres come with their own set of issues. Since these are low-profile tyres, the sidewalls are quite thin. This allows the undulations and bumps from the road to enter the cabin quite easily. There is not enough cushioning effect and the ride quality is negatively affected. Also, the added weight reduces the mileage as the vehicle uses more fuel to generate enough power to move the SUV. Therefore, please keep these factors in mind before you go for large alloys.

Specs

The Mahindra Scorpio Classic comes with a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 130 hp and 300 Nm of peak power and torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a cable shift for quick and precise gearshifts. This engine is 55 kg lighter than the outgoing model making it more efficient. The prices range from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh, ex-showroom. What are your thoughts regarding such oversized aftermarket alloy wheels that are becoming increasingly popular these days?
