Digital artists have a knack for creating intriguing concepts and virtual renditions
In this post, we take a look at the details of the Mahindra Thar Roxx-based pickup truck in the digital realm. Thar Roxx is the 5-door off-roading SUV from the Indian auto giant. It is the most successful vehicle in its class. On the other hand, the Armada moniker was quite famous back in the 1990s and 2000s. It has been a utilitarian SUV with a specific appearance. It used to be available in SUV and pickup truck iterations. There were two engine options – 2.1-litre diesel and 2.5-litre diesel with optional 4×4 configuration. For now, let us check out the kind of details this digital concept embodies.
Mahindra Thar Roxx-based Pickup Visualized
The details of this case stem from thebikerman_ on Instagram. The front fascia contains a familiar grille like the Thar Roxx, along with round LED headlamps surrounded by LED DRLs. Apart from that, the lower section contains an off-roading-focused bumper with a bull bar and fog lamp on either side. In all fairness, this certainly looks ready for some hardcore adventure. On the sides, the pronounced wheel arches gobble up the large off-roading tyres with ease and the side steps enhance the ingress and egress characteristics.
Also, the auxiliary LED lighting on the roof will definitely accentuate visibility during night rides. The roof carrier, along with the cargo bed, maximizes the luggage carrying capacity. At the rear, the pickup truck gets sleek LED taillamps, a sturdy bumper and a tow hook. All in all, this would be an impressive and enticing pickup if it ever makes it to production. In any case, the digital artist has done a commendable job in creating this virtual version, while utilizing the Armada moniker. I shall keep bringing in more such instances for our readers going forward.

In my view, a Thar Roxx-based pickup isn’t an unrealistic proposition for India given Mahindra’s strong ladder-frame expertise and the growing appetite for lifestyle off-roaders. Reviving the Armada badge could smartly blend nostalgia with a more premium positioning above the Bolero Camper. The bigger hurdle, however, will be pricing and the still-limited pickup culture in our market. If executed well, this bodystyle has the potential to expand the Thar brand beyond a niche lifestyle SUV.
