The mighty anticipated SUV has been caught testing on multiple occasions during the past few weeks
The upcoming Mahindra Thar Sports / new-gen Bolero has been spotted performing a road test yet again. Lately, we have spotted it several times wearing heavy camouflage. It’s still unclear if this is the next-gen Bolero Neo or a new Thar version with a monocoque frame. A few days ago, Mahindra invited some Australian auto journalists and gave them information about the Thar Sports. However, that could be for the international markets. For India, it might well be the new-gen Bolero Neo. For now, let’s look at the details available in this latest video clip.
Mahindra Thar Sports / New-Gen Bolero Neo Spied Again
The specifics of this case stem from GOKUL KANNAN KONGU on YouTube. The visuals capture the heavily camouflaged test mule in the middle of the road, making a U-turn. People who know cars will quickly spot the boxy shape, like the current Bolero Neo. The video shows its side view in the first few seconds. It has square wheel arches, a flat rear, and a spare tyre on the boot. Interestingly, there are multiple people sitting inside the SUV. Then, we get a quick look at the front.
It shows round headlamps, a tough bumper, a flat bonnet, and a bold grille. If you look closely, you’ll also see the side steps. These help passengers get in and out more easily. I also noticed thick body cladding on the sides, blending into the wheel arches. The black alloy wheels give it a sporty touch. Therefore, all these elements point to a rugged SUV with an imposing road presence. Overall, this SUV blends classic design with new features.
My View
Mahindra hosts a big event every year on Indian Independence Day. At this event, it shows off future vehicles, concept models, and new technology. There’s no reason to think this year will be any different. What’s exciting is finding out if this is the new Bolero Neo or Thar Sports. Apart from that, the Indian auto giant will also showcase its new freedom_nu platform. It will spawn multiple new SUVs going forward. More information will come out in the next few days.
