Mahindra has announced 4 new concepts for the future – Vision S, Vision T, Vision X and Vision SXT
The Mahindra Vision S will become the rival to the new Tata Sierra in our market. The Indian auto giant had unveiled four new concept vehicles a few months ago to showcase its upcoming SUV lineup. These concepts are Vision S, Vision T, Vision X and Vision SXT. Each one follows a distinct body style and purpose, aimed at meeting the needs of different customer segments. In the years ahead, Mahindra plans to introduce production-ready versions of all these concepts. The Vision S will arrive in production form in 2027. For the moment, let us take a closer look at what the Vision S is all about.

Mahindra Vision S
The Mahindra Vision S is slated to be a butch compact SUV which will come with tons of modern-day elements. Going by the concept renderings, the front section contains an upright bonnet, LED lighting elements all over the grille, LED DRLs on the edges with LED headlamps encapsulated between them and LED fog lamps on the extreme edges of the sturdy bumper, completed with a skid plate. On the sides, the flush-fitting door handles, black side pillars, boxy silhouette, side body cladding and aero alloy wheels are the major attractions. Finally, the tail section contains a bootlid-mounted spare tyre, rugged skid plate, sporty bumper and sleek LED taillamps. It remains to be seen how much of this will make it to real life.
On the inside, the concept came with a modern and slightly extravagant cabin layout. There are two screens – the infotainment and the driver’s instrument cluster. Apart from that, the unique AC vents, a textured dashboard, tri-spoke steering wheel with controls, piano black finish for the centre console and striking door panels, etc., are some of the main in-cabin highlights. It goes without saying that the tech, convenience, connectivity and safety features will be aplenty. Still, exact details will emerge in the coming months.

My View
The SUV segment in India is rising rapidly. We are experiencing new and updates of the existing models frequently. The surge in the popularity of SUVs of all shapes and sizes is evident. Mahindra Vision S is bound to be a worthy rival to the Tata Sierra. The recent reports of some glitches on the Sierra can become an issue if the Mahindra counterpart launches with flawless technology. In any case, we shall wait for the launch to know more.
