The latest sales reports confirm that the Mahindra XEV 9e was able to outsell the Tata Nexon EV for the period of January to November 2025. The coupe electric SUV from Mahindra generated a ton of interest from media and customers alike. Ever since its launch, Mahindra has received massive bookings for the XEV 9e and BE6. These are its two flagship electric SUVs, designed to compete on a global stage. On the other hand, the Tata Nexon EV has been the most successful EV in the country for years now. Mahindra XEV 9e Outsells Tata Nexon EV
According to the reports online, Mahindra was able to sell 24,951 units of the XEV 9e between January and November 2025, whereas Tata Motors sold 22,878 units of the Nexon EV. This is quite shocking considering the price tags of these two products. The Nexon EV retails between Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 17.49 lakh, ex-showroom, while the Mahindra XEV 9e ranges from Rs 21.90 lakh to Rs 31.25 lakh, ex-showroom. The top trims of the latter bear an on-road price around that of entry-level luxury cars. To see Indian customers buying it in such high numbers is a testament to how the market has evolved.

The large electric SUV is available with two battery packs – 79 kWh and 59 kWh. Mahindra claims a range of 656 km and 542 km on a single charge, respectively. The electric motor generates 286 hp and 380 Nm with the larger battery and 231 hp and 380 Nm of peak power and torque, with the smaller unit, respectively. Using a 175 kW DC fast charger, the battery goes from 20% to 80% in a mere 20 minutes. In the most aggressive configuration, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h comes up in just 6.8 seconds.
