Mahindra XUV700 Converted into Matte Look

Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a great way to keep the original colour of the car intact for many years

In this post, we are taking a look at the details of a Mahindra XUV700 that has been modified from the outside using a matte black PPF. XUV700 is the flagship offering from the Indian auto giant. It is not only popular in India, but has wooed customers in international markets like Australia and South Africa. This represents the best that Mahindra has to offer in its current breed of SUVs. It has taken the segment by storm and established itself as the one to beat. For now, let us delve deep into the specifics of this latest case.

Mahindra XUV700 with Matte Black PPF

The details of this case emerge from ETU Studio on YouTube. The visuals capture the car shop owner talk about the entire process. Firstly, they detach the vehicle completely. This includes headlamps, taillamps, bumpers, fenders, wheel arches and door panels on the inside. Thereafter, they wash the body of the vehicle before applying the matte PPF. The visuals showcase how tricky and skilful this task is. Only when the workers are this professional can you see a wrinkle-free film on the entire surface of the SUV.

I really appreciate the colour combination they opted for. While the entire body wears the matte black PPF, some elements like the flush-fitting door handles, wheel arches, side pillars, front grille, etc., have been finished in gloss black colour. This combination certainly enhances the overall appearance and demeanour of the large SUV. Furthermore, they even covered the interior surfaces with a PPF to prevent fingerprint and other such marks on these glossy panels. Hence, there is a huge appeal and charm to this procedure.

My View

Wrapping a car in a paint protection film is the most direct way to increase the life of a car’s paint. It has become quite popular in recent times. In fact, this film has self-healing and hydrophobic properties which help in the ease of maintenance. However, if you are changing the colour of the vehicle, you need to take permission from the RTO first and then modify your car’s registration certificate too. That is the legal way to do it. I shall keep bringing more such cases for our readers.
