Maruti Brezza and Fronx have dominated the sub 4m SUV segment in July 2023 with impressive sales. Brezza is a compact SUV that is among the most popular and successful vehicles in its class. People have been flocking to buy it since its inception. On the other hand, Fronx is the next crossover hatchback based on the mega-successful Baleno premium hatchback. Both these belong to the sub 4m segment in our market but have varied applications. Let us take a look at the details of the latest sales numbers for these two.

Maruti Brezza and Fronx Sales

As per the official data, Maruti Suzuki was able to sell a whopping 16,543 units of the Brezza and 13,220 units of the Fronx in July 2023. This is a testament to the love people have for Maruti cars in our market. We must mention here that there are many carmakers who don’t even sell 16,000 units from their entire portfolios in any month. In terms of total sales for July 2023, the largest carmaker in the country sold an incredible 1.52 lakh cars. This marks a 6.5% growth on a year-on-year basis. The second biggest carmaker, Hyundai, sold just over 50,000 indicating the sheer dominance of Maruti Suzuki.

Maruti Brezza Specs

Maruti Brezza comes with a 1.5-litre NA 4-cylinder petrol engine that develops 103 PS and 137 Nm of peak power and torque. There is an option to choose between either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. There is also a CNG powertrain on offer. It generates a healthy 88 PS and 121 Nm of peak power and torque. This is the same configuration that one finds in the Ertiga CNG. The prices of the compact SUV range from Rs 8.29 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 14.14 lakh, ex-showroom.

Maruti Fronx Specs

The Maruti Fronx offers two types of engines – a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. These engines provide peak power and torque of 90 PS / 113 Nm and 100 PS / 147.6 Nm, respectively. You can choose between a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic transmission for this model. The starting prices of Fronx are Rs 7.46 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 13.13 lakh, ex-showroom.
