The flagship SUV from Maruti Suzuki has been impressing potential buyers and industry experts alike
The Maruti Invicto has scored a full 5-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP. This shows that the largest car marque in the country has worked tremendously to improve this aspect of its modern cars. In the past, it was criticized heavily for not manufacturing cars with high safety ratings. However, with the latest breed of products, that has changed drastically. For now, let us take a look at the details of the safety ratings for the Invicto.
Maruti Invicto at Bharat NCAP
The Maruti Invicto attained a full 5-star safety rating at the Bharat NCAP in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) categories. These ratings are a direct result of 30.43 points out of 32 in AOP and 45 points out of 49 in COP. The standard equipment list includes 6 airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts at the rear, seatbelt pretensioner, seatbelt load-limiter, airbag cut-off switch, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) (UN GTR No.8 / UNECE R140 / AIS-133), pedestrian protection (AIS-100) and seatbelt reminder (AIS-145). All these factors contributed to the overall scores.
In the AOP category, the Invicto secured 14.43 points out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and 16 points out of 16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. Furthermore, the Side Pole Impact Pole Test was rated ‘OK’. On the other hand, the COP section encapsulates a Dynamic Score of 24 out of 24, a CRS Installation Score of 12 out of 12 and a Vehicle Assessment Score of 9 out of 13. This resulted in a full 5-star safety rating. Note that both child seat mounts are rearward facing. All this results in full scores in both departments.
