The new Venue is the talk of the town at the moment, as the official launch is slated for November 4
I am comparing the specifications of the new 2025 Hyundai Venue with the Maruti Brezza and the Tata Nexon. The compact SUV segment is one of the most crowded spaces in our market. To succeed in this category is not easy. The fact that the Venue has been doing that consistently for a few years now is a testament to how appealing it is for the customers. In the new model, the Korean auto giant has taken things to the next level in terms of styling, interior, features, connectivity and safety. For now, let us check out what powers these three popular compact SUVs.
New 2025 Hyundai Venue v Maruti Brezza v Tata Nexon – Specs
Hyundai Venue
The new 2025 Hyundai Venue continues to carry the same powertrain alternatives as the existing model. This includes a 1.2-litre MPi naturally aspirated petrol engine making 83 PS and 114.7 Nm, a 1.0-litre GDi turbo petrol mill making 120 PS and 172 Nm and a 1.5-litre CRDi turbo diesel engine generating a familiar 116 PS and 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The 1.2L petrol unit pairs with a 5-speed manual, the turbo petrol can be had with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT automatic and the diesel powertrain can be combined with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Hence, buyers have all sorts of engine-gearbox combinations to choose from.

Maruti Brezza

On the other hand, the Maruti Brezza is available with a sole 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which is capable of generating a decent 103 PS and 138 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. The buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual or an automatic transmission. Apart from that, this mill can also be purchased in CNG guise, where the power and torque drop down to 89 PS and 121.5 Nm, respectively. Note that there is no turbo petrol or diesel mill on offer, which might be a serious disadvantage for those who seek performance or low running costs.

Finally, the Tata Nexon is also among the most popular products in this space. In fact, it has topped the sales charts in this category multiple times in the last few years. Under the hood, there are multiple engine options to choose from. These include 1.2-litre turbo petrol, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol direct injection, a 1.5-litre turbo diesel and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol + CNG engines.
