The new 2026 Skoda Slavia has been spotted testing just before the launch in our market. Slavia is based on the heavily localized MQB A0 IN platform, which also underpins the Kushaq, Kylaq, VW Taigun and VW Virtus. This architecture revived the business of the VW Group in India as a part of the brand’s India 2.0 strategy in the last few years. As a result, the sales of these cars have been strong. Nevertheless, the overall competition across the segment in India is quite fierce. Hence, carmakers need to keep updating their product range.
New 2026 Skoda Slavia Spied Testing
This post stems from rushlane on Instagram. The visuals capture the test mule of the mid-size SUV on a busy road. As expected, the sedan is wearing a thick camouflage to conceal its design. Still, the familiar silhouette gives away the information regarding the model. At the front, we see a similar grille to the existing model and the LED DRLs are visible through the covering. Even though the exact styling is not apparent, we can expect a few tweaks to the bumper. On the sides, the familiar design theme for the door panels is evident.
Finally, the tail end contains a shark fin antenna, sleek LED taillamps and a sporty bumper. The exact changes to the design will surface in the coming days. Now, there is no information about the kind of amenities the new Slavia will boast. Having said that, we can expect a few minor additions to the features list to pamper new customers. Going by what the current model already offers, one can be sure that there will be all sorts of modern amenities.
Specs
Now, there is no reason to believe that the updated Skoda Slavia will bear any changes to the powertrain and transmission options. This means that it will most likely continue to draw power from a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, generating a healthy 115 PS / 178 Nm and 150 PS / 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The former can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic, while the latter will get the 7-speed DSG transmission. It will be interesting to see if the Czech carmaker offers a manual with the 1.5-litre mill too. More details will emerge in the coming days.

Having tracked the Slavia closely since its India debut, this test mule suggests Skoda is playing it smart with timely, incremental updates rather than a full overhaul. In a fiercely contested mid-size sedan space dominated by the Virtus and Verna, freshness and feature additions matter more than radical changes. The MQB A0 IN platform has already proven its worth, so refining the formula makes sense. What will really define the 2026 Slavia’s impact is pricing and whether Skoda finally pairs the 1.5 TSI with a manual.
