Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced two new models for the Indian market – the Shine 100 DX and the CB125 Hornet. Both motorcycles feature an updated design and technology. These ensure that the two-wheeler giant caters to two specific market segments to fetch high volumes. The bookings have already been open for a while now, and the launch event has announced the introductory prices as well. Let us delve into the details of these motorcycles.

Honda CB125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX Launched

HMSI has launched two new motorcycles in Chennai – the CB125 Hornet and the Shine 100 DX. The CB125 Hornet has been introduced at an introductory price of Rs 1,12,000, while the Shine 100 DX is priced at Rs 76,809 (ex-showroom, Chennai). Bookings for both bikes can be made at authorised Honda dealerships.

The Honda CB125 Hornet has been designed for younger riders and gets a sporty look. It is offered in four colour choices – Pearl Siren Blue with Lemon Ice Yellow, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Siren Blue with Athletic Blue Metallic, and Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red. Key highlights include golden USD front forks, an all-LED lighting setup, and a 4.2-inch TFT display with Honda RoadSync Bluetooth connectivity. This system provides navigation support, call alerts, and SMS notifications.

Other practical features include a Type-C charging port, a 240mm petal disc brake with single-channel ABS, and a muscular street-style design. Power comes from a 123.94cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that produces 8.2 kW and 11.2 Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Honda claims it can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 5.4 seconds, making it one of the quickest motorcycles in its class.

It comes with a refreshed design featuring a sculpted fuel tank, chrome touches around the headlamp, body graphics, and a chrome muffler cover. The motorcycle is available in four shades – Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Athletic Blue Metallic, and Geny Gray Metallic. It also gets a digital LCD cluster showing mileage, distance-to-empty, and service reminders. Powering it is a 98.98cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine with Honda’s eSP technology. This unit develops 5.43 kW and 8.04 Nm, paired with a 4-speed gearbox.
