Mahindra offers all sorts of SUVs to suit the needs of a diverse range of potential customers
In this post, we compare the newly launched Mahindra XUV 7XO and the Scorpio N on the basis of specs, features, prices, and more. Both these SUVs are immensely popular in our market. In the last couple of years, Mahindra has been launching vehicles with new-age tech and convenience amenities in addition to stylish and safety-oriented, powerful cars. The XUV 7XO is a prime example of how luxurious a mass-market vehicle can be. Mahindra XUV 7XO vs Scorpio N – Price
The new Mahindra XUV 7XO is available with special introductory prices until the first 40,000 deliveries. These range between Rs 13.66 lakh and Rs 26.56 lakh, ex-showroom. On the other hand, the Mahindra Scorpio N starts at Rs 13.20 lakh and goes up to Rs 24.17 lakh, ex-showroom. Note that the new XUV 7XO will get costlier after the introductory prices.

Mahindra XUV 7XO vs Scorpio N – Specs
The Mahindra XUV 7XO is offered with two engine choices. The first is the well-known 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol motor. It puts out 200 hp and 380 Nm of torque. The second option is a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine available in two states of tune. One version produces 155 hp and 360 Nm, while the other generates 185 hp and 420 Nm. With the automatic transmission, torque rises to 450 Nm. Both engines are available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. Mahindra states a 0-60 km/h time of under 5 seconds. In our testing, the SUV achieved 0-100 km/h in just 10 seconds, which is impressive for a vehicle of this size. It also offers multiple drive modes, including Zip, Zap, Zoom and a custom option. Buyers can also opt for an all-wheel-drive system. Another major highlight is the global debut of Mahindra’s new DAVINCI suspension setup.
The Mahindra Scorpio N is available with petrol and diesel engines. Buyers can choose between manual and automatic gearboxes. Both 4×2 and 4×4 options are also on offer. This wide range helps meet the needs of different types of buyers. The Scorpio N gets a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder mStallion turbo-petrol engine. It produces a strong 200 hp and 380 Nm of torque. There is also a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder mHawk turbo-diesel motor. This diesel engine comes in two versions. One makes 132 PS and 300 Nm, while the other delivers 175 PS and 400 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic. The SUV features Frequency Selective Damping. It also uses the same suspension setup as the Thar Roxx. In addition, the advanced 4XPLOR system offers excellent off-road capability.

My View
Both these SUVs are immensely capable and tech-laden. Still, they have their distinct applications, which is why they cater to a completely different set of customers. The new XUV 7XO is geared towards urban dwellers who love to experience the latest technology and want minor off-roading excursions once in a while. On the contrary, the Scorpio N is for those who love adventurous journeys without compromising on comfort. Hence, one can’t go wrong with any of these compelling propositions.
