The new Maruti Dzire has been receiving special edition models from the start for specific customer needs
In this recent video, we were able to get our hands on the new Maruti Dzire Chromico Edition. It costs Rs 29,000 extra over the trim you want to purchase. It is fascinating to see the largest carmaker in the country introduce specific versions of the Dzire right from the launch. We already detailed the Copperico Edition a few days ago. In essence, these special edition models are a set of official accessories which are catered towards a particular niche among the customers. Getting these elements installed from the factory will also prevent owners from having to head to the aftermarket later on. Let us take a look at the details of this version here.
New Maruti Dzire Chromico Edition
As seen in the video clip, the Chromico Edition of the Maruti Dzire contains tons of chrome elements on the exterior to bling the appearance. To start with, the lower section of the front bumper now gets a piano black panel with chrome inserts on the extreme edges. This chrome cladding extends to the side door panels, elevating its road presence. At the rear, the chrome bar is installed on the boot lid along with a chunky chrome component on the extreme edges of the bumper. As additional accessories, you can get chrome-infused door visors and a roof-mounted spoiler. On the inside, we get to witness door sills and special seat covers which are 6-airbags compatible.
Despite so many exterior alterations, the powertrain remains the same as the regular model. It is the familiar Swift-sourced 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E naturally aspirated petrol engine with mild hybrid technology which generates a healthy 82 PS and 112 Nm of peak power and torque. Performing the transmission duties is a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The Dzire boasts an incredible mileage figure of 24.79 km/l with the manual and 25.71 km/l with the AMT. One can even opt for the CNG version which is good for 70 PS and 102 Nm. It has a fuel economy of 33.73 km/kg. The prices range from Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 10.14 lakh, ex-showroom.

My View
With these special edition models, Maruti Suzuki wants to ensure that customers get enticed by these accessory packages. With these, they won’t have to buy extra equipment or head to the aftermarket. We know that chrome is loved by Indian car buyers a lot. As a result, I am sure that these special edition models will become popular among the masses. In any case, we shall have to wait to see how well the customers embrace these.
