The mid-size SUV from the Czech car marque with new amenities is slated for launch soon
The new Skoda Kushaq facelift has been spied testing yet again. Kushaq has been an instrumental product in Skoda’s India lineup in the last few years. Based on the heavily localized MQB A0 IN platform, Kushaq, along with Slavia, has taken sales to the next level. In fact, these two vehicles have, essentially, revived the brand in India. This growth has also translated to VW with the Taigun and Virtus. First launched in 2021, the Kushaq is certainly due for a facelift. Here’s what to expect.
New Skoda Kushaq Facelift Spotted Testing
As per the details of this post, the mid-size SUV was seen testing on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Understandably, the body is wrapped in a thick camouflage. At the front, the silhouette of the butterfly Skoda grille and bonnet line is visible. Also, the sleek headlamps and LED DRLs are somewhat similar to the existing model. While we can’t know the exact design theme, it would be fair to assume that there will be enough differences to the fascia to establish its unique identity.
Interestingly, the side profile is partially visible. The door panels look identical to the current model. Also, the black side pillars and roof rails add a bit of ruggedness. I expect the Kushaq facelift to bear new alloy wheels. Finally, the tail section contains a roof-mounted spoiler, a shark fin antenna, slim LED taillamps and a sporty bumper. All in all, there won’t be extravagant distinctions in comparison to the existing model, but enough to tell the two apart.
Expected Features and Specs
In order to rival the mighty Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, etc., it is critical for Skoda to up its game with the addition of more features and tech. Hence, we can expect the Czech auto giant to equip its Kushaq facelift with all the latest safety and connectivity amenities. In terms of specifications, the Kushaq facelift will most likely carry on with two turbo petrol mills – 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre. There will be options of manual and automatic transmissions. Let us keep an eye out for more details as and when they emerge.
