The Hyundai Creta is the most successful vehicle in the mid-size SUV space in India
In this post, we take a look at the details of the next-gen Hyundai Creta, which was recently spied in South Korea. We know that Creta holds an incredibly strong position in our market. This brutally competitive space has been ruled by the Creta for the past many years. Despite so many options in this space, the Creta has held its own over the years. The fact that the Korean car marque keeps updating it from time to time plays a crucial role in sustaining the demand and appeal of the Creta. For now, let us take a look at the details of what the latest Creta comes with.
Next-Gen Hyundai Creta Spotted in South Korea
The visuals capture the camouflaged SUV at a parking lot somewhere in the native market of South Korea. At the front, we see a split headlamp layout with a massive grille in the centre. Down below, the bumper looks sporty and the familiar stance is evident. On the sides, the SUV carries a known silhouette and profile, while the alloy wheel design is updated. A brief glimpse on the inside doesn’t reveal much apart from the comfortable seats and soft-touch materials on the central armrest.
We know that Hyundai loves to equip its products with all the latest bells and whistles. Hence, there is no reason to believe that the new Creta won’t be among the most feature-rich vehicles in its segment. Talking about the powertrains and transmissions, I don’t feel that there will be any changes to the existing setup. Hence, it could continue with the 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines. However, we could even have a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid mill this time around. The transmission duties will be carried out by manual and automatic gearboxes. Let us keep an eye out for more details in the coming months.

In my view, the Creta’s continued evolution is a clear reminder of why it has dominated the mid-size SUV segment in India for years. Hyundai understands the pulse of Indian buyers extremely well and consistently refreshes the Creta with the right mix of design, features and powertrain options. If the next-generation model brings even more technology or a possible hybrid option, it could further strengthen Hyundai’s grip on this fiercely competitive segment. Rival manufacturers will certainly be watching this development very closely.
