Hilux is one of the most popular pickup trucks from Toyota across various international markets
The next-gen Toyota Hilux might have been leaked in the latest brochure images. We know that the Japanese car marque has been prepping the new-gen model for a while now. It is being developed in Thailand, and we might see it in the flesh by the end of this year or the beginning of next year. The Hilux moniker might not be as popular in India, but it is one of the best-selling pickup trucks in many parts of the world. Hence, there is a huge excitement around its upcoming latest generation model.
Next-Gen Toyota Hilux Leaked in Brochure Images?
We are able to come across the details of this case courtesy of bfmsoficial on Instagram. This image showcases the front, side and rear profiles of the pickup truck. At the front, it gets a redesigned fascia. This is confirmed by a new sharp layout for the LED DRLs on the edge of the bonnet, a compact rectangular grille, vertical LED fog lamps on the extreme edges of the bumper, sleek LED headlamps just beneath the DRLs and an imposing skid plate under the front bumper. All these elements are more than enough to distinguish it from the existing model.
Moving down the sides reveals a rather familiar silhouette. The door panels look unchanged from the current model. There are side steps to enhance the ingress and egress traits of the pickup truck. Also, the black B-pillars and rugged wheel arches look sporty. There is also a shark fin antenna visible in the image. I like the sporty black/grey alloy wheels. Finally, the tail end captures the large cargo bed with relatively compact LED taillamps on the edges and a sturdy bumper. All in all, the new-gen Toyota Hilux will be more modern in terms of appearance.
Expected Specs and Features
Now, there have been many rumours floating around, indicating that the new Hilux could either continue with the tried and tested 2.8-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel mill or might get some form of electrification for better emissions and efficiency. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. Still, there will be manual and automatic transmission options along with hardcore 4×4 off-roading capabilities. Apart from that, customers would really appreciate new elements inside the cabin, including new tech, features and layout. Let us see how things pan out going forward.
