Payan Vintage Cars Museum Mysore

It is not every day that one gets to experience a vintage car museum which makes this a special occasion

In this post, we are able to catch a glimpse of the famous Payana vintage car museum of Mysore. The popularity of vehicles from the era gone by has been increasing among car enthusiasts in India. However, it is not as prominent as in some western countries like the U.S. Still, there are some impressive museums and car collectors in India. The Payan Vintage Car Museum of Mysore is a prime example of that. Even if you are not able to visit it in person, this video will allow you to get a virtual tour of the place.

Payana Vintage Car Museum of Mysore

We are able to come across the video courtesy of spirit of life….;) on YouTube. The visuals capture almost all major aspects of this unique museum. Even the exterior styling is unlike anything I have seen. Once you enter inside, there are all sorts of iconic vehicles from as early as 1926. The major brands include Mercedes Benz, Austin Motor, Citroen, Hindustan 14, Fiat, Studebaker President, Skoda, GAZ, Ford, Morris Wooden, Buick, Frazer, Hillman, Hudson, Daimler, Chevrolet, Steyr-Puch, Double Decker Bus, Mazda, Cadillac, Jaguar, and much more.

This museum was founded by Shree D. Veerendra Heggade. He is an automobile buff who loves to preserve classic motoring and culture. In this museum, you will find vehicle models which represent automobile excellence from the era gone by. There are also curated exhibitions taking place at this venue which attract numerous visitors from all corners of the country. Apart from the cars, the museum even houses automotive parts from previous years which represent the mechanical achievements of the past. All in all, if you even remotely love cars, this is a must-visit place.

My View

I believe India should have more such places which depict the iconic history of our beloved automobile industry. Today, we are the 3rd largest automobile country in the world. Having reached this impressive milestone, it is only fitting that we develop such interactive venues for car enthusiasts. It will definitely be beneficial to inspire people to get associated with the industry or even for those who want to be a part of the rich heritage of this space.
