Pillion Sits on Sack on Bike

This video has been shared by ghantaa on Instagram. It captures quite a bizarre case. A woman is seen sitting on top of a sack that seems to contain flour in the pillion seat of a bike. She even has some luggage in her hands. Obviously, her ride height has increased tremendously due to this. What is even worse is the fact that she is not wearing a helmet. The duo is travelling in city conditions with plenty of vehicles around. There are so many things that could go wrong with such a stupid act.

Firstly, in case of any jerk or sudden braking, the pillion could easily get herself injured as she is not in a stable condition. The increased height creates issues as one has less control. Secondly, since she is not wearing a helmet, the injuries sustained could potentially be fatal. Thirdly, it is possible that she is blocking the view of other car and bike users around her because of her unusual posture. As a result, the chances of crashes of other vehicles increase. Unfortunately, such incidents are rather common on our streets.

What We Think

There are thousands of lives lost in road accidents in our country each year. Most of these happen due to the negligence of the driver. People don’t usually follow traffic regulations which is what leads to undesirable circumstances. Hence, it is time we start appreciating and following traffic protocols so that our roads become safer than they are. Also, we urge our readers to never get involved in such mindless activities and report such people to the authorities who are creating nuisances on the roads.
