Tata Punch EV Owner Drives Curvv EV Shares Ownership Experience

Tata Motors is the largest EV maker in the country and most of its ICE range is also available in electric avatars

In this latest post, a Tata Punch EV owner shares his experience of driving the Curvv EV. Both these are prominent EVs in Tata’s portfolio. On one hand, the Punch EV is the electric version of the ICE model. Punch has been immensely successful in India in its regular version since its inception. It offers great road presence and practicality at an affordable price range. On top of that, it boasts a full 5-star safety rating. Leveraging these attractions of the ICE model, the Indian auto giant launched the electric version as well. On the other hand, Curvv is a coupe SUV with the aim to democratize the coupe SUV space. It is available with ICE and electric powertrains. Let us see what the Punch EV owner has to say about it.

The details of this post emerge from Cartoon Carwala on YouTube. The host has the Punch EV owner with him. They make him drive the Curvv EV first. As soon as the Punch EV owner gets inside the Curvv EV, he notices the premium amenities like a bigger steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, a larger touchscreen display, and other components. However, he mentions that the lack of cup holders at the front and the slightly less comfortable seats are a few drawbacks he noticed immediately. On the other hand, he says that even the rear seat comfort is slightly better in the Punch EV due to its smaller battery pack.

He then drives the Curvv EV. Here, he was able to decipher the difference of the large dimensions, larger battery and higher power and torque outputs instantly. In fact, he drives it well past 150 km/h on an open stretch of the road. He feels that the acceleration and overall performance including high-speed stability are much better in the Punch EV. Towards the later part of the video, even the YouTuber drives the Punch EV. He was impressed by tons of features on it along with a decent driving experience. For the money the Punch EV charges, it is an enticing proposition.

My View

Since both these EVs belong to Tata Motors, it is evident that these are feature-laden. That is one of the most important criteria for modern car buyers. They want their vehicles to come with all the bells and whistles. However, the main difference lies in the price point and performance. Also, the Curvv EV is significantly larger than the Punch EV. Therefore, I feel the final decision of which one to pick will really depend on your budget. If you are on a strict budget, sticking with the Punch EV is a great ideal. However, if you can stretch it a bit, the Tata Curvv EV is surely worth it.
