Tata Punch Facelift Spotted Testing

The Indian auto giant is prepping the updated iteration of the popular sub-compact SUV

The Tata Punch facelift was spied testing yet again on public roads. The Punch is a compact SUV placed below the Nexon in Tata’s range. Since its launch in 2021, it has achieved good sales numbers. Buyers prefer a small SUV that remains affordable. It brings bold looks, modern features, and a tough stance. The Punch also carries a 5-star safety score, making it more attractive. Its design and price make it a strong option in its class. Now, let us explore the details of this upcoming facelift.

Tata Punch Facelift Spotted

This post stems from madautotech on Instagram. It shows the test vehicle running on public roads. As expected, the small SUV is heavily camouflaged. Still, its outline confirms its identity. Even under wraps, the bumper-mounted headlamp cluster is clearly visible. This suggests the front will resemble the current model, with LED DRLs on the bonnet and main headlights on the bumper. Yet, there could be new connected DRLs, vertical lamps, and a fresh bumper. The front looks muscular, while the side highlights big wheel arches.

I also spotted rear door handles fitted on the C-pillars. At the back, it continues with familiar tail lamps, a shark fin antenna, and a sporty bumper. Overall, exterior changes will remain minimal. Inside, new features may come from the Punch EV. These include a two-spoke steering, digital driver display, 10.25-inch screen, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, revised dashboard, four disc brakes, six airbags as standard, and more. All these upgrades will surely boost its appeal.

Specs

For engine details, it will keep the current 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol motor. This produces 88 PS and 115 Nm of peak power and torque. Buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox. Alongside, there is also a CNG trim on sale that makes 73 PS and 103 Nm of peak output. As Tata Motors now offers automatic gearboxes with CNG cars, the Punch CNG is also expected to offer both options. At present, prices start at Rs 6.13 lakh and go up to Rs 10.20 lakh, ex-showroom. The facelift model will likely cost slightly higher than this.
