The micro SUV has been a massive hit for the Indian automobile giant ever since its launch back in 2021
The Tata Punch facelift was spied testing on a public road recently. The Punch is a small SUV that sits below the popular Nexon in Tata’s lineup. Since its launch in 2021, it has been performing well in terms of sales. Buyers like the idea of a compact SUV that doesn’t cost too much. It offers modern features, bold styling, and a strong road presence. The Punch also has a 5-star safety rating, which adds to its appeal. Its design and value make it a strong choice in its segment. For now, let us take a look at what the facelift entails.
Tata Punch Facelift Spotted
This post stems from motoroids_india on Instagram. The visuals just capture the tail end of the SUV. Needless to say, the SUV is wrapped in thick camouflage. Still, its silhouette gives away the true identity. Apart from that, the SUV gets a roof-mounted spoiler, LED taillamps and a sporty bumper. According to some previous spy images, the front fascia will encompass LED DRLs on the bonnet and the main headlight unit on the bumper. The side section will largely remain unchanged in comparison to the current model, but there will be new alloy wheels.
Hence, the overall silhouette will resemble the outgoing model, but the new components will make it look modern. Similarly, on the inside, there will be updated elements and some new tech and convenience amenities to pamper the occupants. I don’t believe there will be any change to the powertrain and transmission options. It will continue to carry a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine which develops 88 PS and 115 Nm of peak power and torque with manual and automatic transmission alternatives. Furthermore, the CNG trim will also be on offer. More details will emerge in the coming days.
My View
The Tata Punch is a well-liked car in our market. At times, it has ranked among the top-selling cars in the country. Many people have shown a strong interest in it. Now, the updated facelift version is expected to be even more appealing. This is important because rival cars are getting better, too. The competition in this segment is growing fast. Tata will need to bring something fresh to stay ahead. The new version might get design tweaks and added features. But we will have to wait to know the full details. Only time will tell what changes Tata has planned for the Punch.
