When he asked the SUV owner about the reason why he opted for the Safari, the latter said that he had no intentions of buying a Tata car. He wanted to buy the Fortuner. However, he came to know that the facelift version of the Fortuner is about to launch in almost a year. Hence, the existing model would be outdated soon. On the other hand, the Safari facelift has just been launched. It will stay modern for a long time. That is why he opted for it.

The list of features on the facelift model is quite extensive. In fact, that is one thing that the owner loves. The fact that an Indian carmaker is offering such tech and modern amenities is quite impressive. Some top highlights include a massive 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, touch-sensitive HVAC controls, connected car tech features, textured dashboard with colour matching the exterior, dual-zone climate control, ambient LED lighting, a colossal Panoramic sunroof, a new four-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, a 360-degree camera, ADAS features for active safety, a 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP with highest scores for any car on sale in India, hill-hold assist, 7 airbags and more.

Both the Harrier and Safari have stuck with their previous powertrains, still relying on the familiar 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo diesel engine, sourced from Fiat. This engine consistently delivers 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. You can choose between a 6-speed manual transmission and a torque converter automatic transmission to suit your preference. Additionally, these SUVs are equipped with terrain response capabilities, drive modes and ADAS active safety functions. It’s worth mentioning that a turbo petrol engine is in the works. The prices range from Rs 16.19 lakh to Rs 27.34 lakh, ex-showroom.
