New TVS Orbiter Electric Scooter Review

It is fascinating to witness electric scooters get more and more premium to attract new buyers

In this post, we experience the top 5 premium car-like features on the newly launched TVS Orbiter. TVS has introduced the Orbiter electric scooter in India to rival Hero Vida V2 and Honda Activa Electric. Over the last few years, buyers have shown strong interest in EVs in this segment as well. This trend is easy to understand since most scooter users rely on them for short city trips. That usually means a single charge could last for almost a week. Charging remains one of the biggest hurdles for both electric cars and scooters. For now, let’s check out the attractive amenities on offer.

Top 5 Premium Features on New TVS Orbiter

To entice new-age buyers, the two-wheeler manufacturer has equipped the new TVS Orbiter with all the latest tech and convenience functionalities. However, the main attractions are:

  • Parking Assist – It helps you manoeuvre the electric scooter in tight parking spaces.
  • Cruise Control – For city, as well as highway rides, having the option of cruise control aids convenience and comfort for the rider immensely.
  • Hill Assist – This is an extremely useful feature, especially in the hilly regions of the country. It prevents the scooter from sliding back for a couple of seconds when the rider releases the brakes on a slope.
  • Riding Modes – The new TVS Orbiter comes with two riding modes – City and Eco. These allow the rider to choose the settings according to the conditions.
  • Connected Technology – We know that modern consumers want smartphone connectivity in their cars and bikes. Hence, TVS offers Connected Tech to ensure a seamless synchronization between the vehicle and your phone.

The TVS Orbiter carries a 3.2 kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed range of 150 km on a single charge. This could easily translate to around 115 km in the real world, which is quite decent. Furthermore, the top speed is rated at 68 km/h. This is more than enough for most everyday scenarios. At the front, it gets a 14-inch wheel, while at the rear, there is a 12-inch wheel. With a 650 W charger, the battery goes from 0 to 80% in just 4 hours. The Orbiter is priced at Rs 1.05 lakh, ex-showroom. It will be interesting to see how well the customers embrace it.
