Top 5 Upcoming Car Launches in August 2025
Mahindra Thar Sport / New Bolero Neo
Let us commence this list with the Mahindra Thar Sport / new Bolero Neo. This SUV has been spotted testing on multiple occasions on our roads. Mahindra recently hosted Australian media at its testing facility. There, it revealed plans for a monocoque version of the Thar for global markets. In India, this could arrive as the new Bolero Neo. Spy shots show a tough, upright SUV with Mahindra’s rugged DNA and modern styling. It may debut during Mahindra’s Freedom_NU event in Mumbai on Independence Day. Furthermore, it will also bear modern elements on the inside, taking the comfort and convenience levels a notch higher.
VinFast VF 6 and VF 7
Next up, we have the new VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 on this list of the top 5 upcoming car launches in August 2025 in India. VinFast, for the uninitiated, is the Vietnamese auto giant which has started its operations in India. The first two electric SUVs to roll off the production line are VF 6 and VF 7. In fact, the pre-bookings have been open for a while now. VinFast wants to make India its manufacturing hub to supply EVs to many parts of the world. Looking at the international markets where VinFast sells cars, the VF 6 and VF 7 will certainly be unlike any other SUV on our roads in terms of design. Apart from that, it will offer a minimalist cabin along with tons of new-age connectivity, convenience, safety and comfort amenities to pamper the occupants. The local manufacturing will help keep the prices competitive. More details regarding specifications will emerge in the coming days.
Mercedes AMG CLE 53
Hopping to the other end of the spectrum, the new Mercedes AMG CLE 53 coupe will also be launched in India on August 12. Being an AMG, it bears a whole host of aesthetic enhancements, including sporty elements. While the appearance is exquisite and sporty, the make focus lies on what lies under that voluptuous hood. It will carry a potent 3.0-litre straight-6 twin turbo engine with a 48-volt mild hybrid setup to generate a whopping 449 hp and 560 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. This pairs with a 9-speed DCT gearbox, which powers all four wheels via Merc’s 4MATIC+ system. This results in a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration sprint in just 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h. With the optional AMG Performance Package, the top speed increases to 270 km/h. The expected price tag is Rs 2 Crore.
Mahindra Vision Concepts
Mahindra offered a glimpse into its future lineup through a fresh teaser of the Vision Concepts recently. The visuals reveal four distinct models – Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.X, and Vision.SXT. While the company has yet to share official specifications or timelines, these teasers give us plenty to speculate about. The Vision.S appears to be the most straightforward to decode. Judging by its shape and details, it could be the electrified version of the Scorpio N, or possibly a pickup truck based on the same platform. The design hints at a strong road presence with muscular body lines, curved panels, and sleek LED lighting elements.
Moving on, the Vision.T and Vision.SXT share certain design cues that suggest it may be an electric off-roader inspired by the Thar. Both concepts display a boxy silhouette, rugged proportions, off-road bumpers, and large all-terrain tyres. These features closely resemble the Thar Electric concept showcased by Mahindra in South Africa in 2023, which gained significant attention for blending classic 4×4 styling with electric powertrain technology. The Vision.X is the most mysterious of the bunch. The teaser offers minimal visual clues, leading to speculation that it might be an entirely new vehicle line rather than an electrified version of an existing model. This uncertainty has only fueled more curiosity among enthusiasts.
With four diverse concepts, Mahindra seems to be signalling a bold push towards electrification while retaining its signature rugged DNA. The automotive community is eagerly awaiting further details, as these concepts could play a major role in shaping Mahindra’s global and domestic SUV portfolio in the coming years. These are the top 5 upcoming car launches for August 2025 in our market.
