Unfortunately, we keep hearing about new and bizarre cases almost on a daily basis. But this latest incident is going viral for the sheer recklessness of the driver. Toyota Innova Driver Hits Biker
As per various news reports, this accident took place somewhere in the Ananthapur district of Andhra Pradesh. Reportedly, the Innova driver first hit a biker at high speed, killing him on the spot. If that was not enough, he then placed the body on the roof of the MPV and started moving. In all fairness, it is not clear whether he placed the body on the roof deliberately or it was there after the collision. In any case, he was driving on the streets for about 18 km. That is when the locals spotted this cruel act.
They informed the Police and the authorities took cognizance of the matter. They identified the deceased as Yerrissamy. After the Police started searching for the accused, it was found out that he fled the scene leaving the car and the body behind. A full-fledged investigation is underway to catch hold of the driver. Indian roads are full of such tragic incidents. In fact, I have already reported countless shocking cases which highlight some form of extreme measure from road users. It is high time we start taking rules and regulations seriously. Also, it is ideal to report such miscreants to the authorities so that appropriate action can be taken against them. Also, we hope that the Police catch the culprit and deal with him as per the judicial system. That will set an example which will make others think twice before committing such a blunder.
