The future of mobility looks quite interesting, with automobile giants trying all sorts of fuel alternatives
In this post, we take a look at the details of a Tata car, which allegedly runs on water. In recent times, we have come across instances of car companies researching on hydrogen as a fuel source to power vehicles. As a matter of fact, some car brands like Toyota, Honda and Hyundai currently sell hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) in some niche markets. But that is as close to an emission-free engine as we have seen in the real world until now. Let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
Truth Behind Tata Car That Runs On Water
This video from devil_heart.47 has been doing the rounds on Instagram. The man in the visuals claims that Tata Motors has been testing a vehicle which runs on water. Furthermore, he claims that he is at a testing facility and even showcases the engine of the car with water as the fuel. Then we see the car moving along on the empty stretch of road. Nevertheless, what is quite strange is that no one is sitting in the driver’s seat. That is something the netizens were quick to point out in the comments section.
Now, the caption of this post indicates that this is AI-generated content and everything that is shown in this post is unreal. Finally, it mentions that this is all just for entertainment purposes. Funnily enough, many people in the comment section had already pointed that out. They were certain that something like this can’t exist and this has to be an outcome of AI. This is just a basic example of how AI can create convincing content, which could fool a whole bunch of people.
My View
I appreciate the fact that the owner of this piece of content has confessed that this is AI-generated. It is becoming scary what AI is able to achieve and how realistic its videos can look. That is also a testament to how we can use it to influence our lives positively and reduce manual efforts. Obviously, we need to sharpen our skills to make use of AI effectively. Also, our hearts have to be in the right place to ensure that we don’t misuse AI. I shall keep an eye out for more such cases in times to come.

As someone who has tracked India’s automotive evolution for over a decade and a half, I can say with certainty that no mainstream manufacturer, Tata Motors included, is anywhere close to developing a car that literally “runs on water.” The video in question is a textbook case of AI-generated misinformation, something the industry will increasingly grapple with. While Tata is indeed exploring hydrogen and other clean-energy pathways, such viral claims only highlight the need for stronger public awareness around emerging tech. The Indian car market is maturing fast, but so must our skepticism toward unverified breakthroughs.
