Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Spied Testing

The updated iteration of the flagship ICE SUV from the Indian auto giant is about to launch soon

In this post, we take a look at the details of the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 facelift, which was seen on public roads recently. This SUV is Mahindra’s flagship model and has been on sale in India since 2021. Since its launch, it has posted strong sales, with demand staying high. The company also exports the XUV700 to markets like Australia and South Africa, where it is gaining popularity. A facelift has been under development for some time, and test vehicles are often seen on the road. The latest sighting confirms the updated model is progressing toward launch.

Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Spied

This post stems from mrd_vlogs on Instagram. The visuals capture the camouflaged SUV parked on the side of the road. Initially, we witness the front section. Interestingly, we get a glimpse of the new round LED DRLs, which look like they are integrated inside the headlamp cluster. Apart from that, there are vertical slats on the grille, something we have seen on many Mahindra SUVs. The lower section contains a sporty bumper. From the sides, one can see the flush-fitting door handles and alloy wheels, which look similar to the existing model. Nevertheless, I believe that the production version will bear a different design.

Now, this video clip doesn’t capture the interior of the SUV. Still, we know that Mahindra likes to equip its SUVs with all the latest amenities, including tech, connectivity, convenience, comfort and safety features. Even the current model is feature-laden. Hence, we can expect large screens for infotainment and driver’s instrument cluster, ADAS, and much more. In terms of the powertrain options, I don’t think there will be any changes to the existing 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre turbo diesel mill, with the choices to pick from a manual or an automatic transmission. The higher variants will come with an all-wheel-drive configuration. More details will emerge in the coming days.

My View

The facelift of the Mahindra XUV700 is drawing attention as testing continues. Launched in 2021, this SUV marked an important step for Mahindra in the premium segment. Since then, the company has added more SUVs to strengthen its lineup in India. It has also moved into the electric space with the XEV and BE brands, which have been well received by both buyers and experts. An all-electric version of the XUV700 has already been confirmed, though further details are still awaited.
