While VW is busy with the launch of the Taigun mid-size SUV later this year in a bid to reinvent itself for the Indian market, it is also taking some other measures to gain popularity. Volkswagen has been leaving no stone unturned to start the second-innings in our market with a bang. They have worked on their service experience, bringing new products, achieving high levels of localization, decrease maintenance and ownership costs, etc. Now, they have introduced an automatic transmission option with their Comforline trim as well. This will enhance the accessibility of the Polo and offer a higher degree of flexibility to the customers. Let us see what this means for the Polo lineup.

VW Polo – Exteriors

There is no denying that the VW Polo in India is a decade-old product. However, the contemporary and minimalistic design language of the German carmaker has made sure that it doesn’t look old from any angle. The front-end of the Polo features the Full-LED Headlamps with DRLs, Sporty Front Honeycomb Grille Pattern, GTI-Inspired Front Bumper with Honeycomb Pattern, 16-inch Grey Alloy Wheels, Characteristic and Sharp Crease on the Side Panels, Traditional Taillamp Unit, Chrome Insert at the rear including on the lower part of the rear bumper. All in all, the Polo looks typically Volkswagen which might be too understated for some customers.

VW Polo – Interiors, Features and Safety

Volkswagen Polo is clearly an old car which is unfortunately clear from its interior. The cabin styling is outdated. However, VW has managed to incorporate some modern features like Digital Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Steering mounted controls, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control. Safety features include ABS, Dual airbags, vehicle stability control system, ISOFIX child seat mounts but it does miss out on 360-degree camera, Hill-start Assist and traction control. So, although it is not a brand new car, Volkswagen has kept its Polo up-to-date. But still, it misses out on some of the latest features like Wireless Charging, Digital Instrument Cluster, Rear AC vents, Rear armrest with cup holders and phone holder.
