The new motorcycle from Harley Davidson has been launched with a few upgrades over the regular X440
As a part of the media review, I got the opportunity to get up close and personal with the newly launched Harley Davidson X440T. It is the newest product in our market. Priced at Rs 2,79,500, ex-showroom, the bookings are already underway with deliveries set to commence from January 2026. The X440T bears the engine developed by Hero MotoCorp as a part of their partnership. It will be interesting to see if it will be able to woo new customers.
Walkaround Tour of the New Harley Davidson X440T
In essence, the new Harley Davidson X440T is an improved iteration of the existing X440. The two-wheeler manufacturer claims that there are 72 updates to the new bike, mostly minor. Still, some of the main enhancements include braided cable for a neater look around the handlebar, a smoother finish, a revised exhaust with new elements, a redesigned rear end with a new swingarm, new body graphics on the fuel tank and much more. All these factors combine to make the motorbike look fresh.
Shifting our focus to the features, let us start with the ride-by-wire functionality, which is the reason why so many cables have been done away with. As a consequence, the throttle response is much quicker and we are able to get switchable ABS and Traction Control. Other bits incorporate ride modes, a 3.5-inch TFT circular instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, navigation and much more.
Specs and Riding Impressions
The new Harley Davidson X440T comes with a 440-cc 2V SOHC single-cylinder engine that churns out 27 hp and 36 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. This mill pairs with a 6-speed transmission. While riding it on the road, I felt an evident improvement in comparison to the X440. The power delivery is linear and the vibrations on the handlebar are neatly contained. I also experienced smoothness and refinement during my time with the bike, which is great. Also, the suspension got a thorough revamp, which is why the front profile feels much better. Finally, I must confess that this is one of the best-sounding single-cycle motorcycles that I have ever ridden.
