The first Mercedes-Benz to be officially called the E-Class was the W124 generation of the car that was launched way back in 1984. Mercedes Benz cars from that era are quite timeless in their design and still look great in modern times. It is also considered one of the most all-time beautiful looking cars by Mercedes Benz. There are quite a few of these Mercedes W124 E-Class’s here in India as well and you will find a few of them in immaculate condition as well. We however came across a Mercedes W124 E-Class that’s on sale at a price lower than the Renault Kwid. Yes, you heard that right.
The car is registered in Pune, Maharashtra and the seller claims this to be 1999 model. We would like to point out that Mercedes Benz stopped selling the sedan version of the W124 in 1995. This model however could have been registered much later in 1999. Nevertheless, the car seems to be immaculate condition and the seller says that the car has done 83,000 km on the odometer. That’s actually not quite a lot considering how old this car is.
This Mercedes W124 E-Class is also not completely stock as it would have come from the factory. This model has been resto-modded and the car comes fitted with after market bumpers, which are AMG inspired. The wheels have also been swapped for some original AMG-spec alloy wheels and it really does justice to the look of the car. The body also likely seems to have been ceramic coated which is why the paint still has a mirror look. On the inside, this Mercedes W124 also comes fitted with a touchscreen infotainment system. This particular model is the E250d variant of the E-Class. It came powered by a diesel engine mated to a manual transmission. As mentioned earlier, the car has done 83,000 km on the odometer but this being a diesel, it could do several thousand kilometres more without breaking a sweat. The seller also claims that the insurance on this vehicle is also valid still.

Lastly, we will come to the price of this vehicle. We came across this Mercedes W124 E-Class on OLX where the seller was selling the car at just Rs 4. lakh. And that’s how its cheaper than even a Kwid. You will of course have to check with the seller on the actual condition of the car, the service history and all other necessary aspects but considering this is a vintage piece of machinery, it is an amazing deal for what you are getting.
