Dealerships have started receiving the 2019 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, with the updated safety features. An official launch is expected very soon.

The safety norms for two-wheelers and four-wheelers have commenced in India and the automobile manufacturers are almost done with the upgrading process. Maruti Suzuki is almost done with its share with the Alto 800.

2019 Maruti Alto 800 has been spotted at dealerships. It gets some minor cosmetic upgrades as well as new safety features to make it compliant. Since it has started reaching dealerships, we expect a launch soon.

The updated Alto now gets driver airbags and ABS as a standard fitment across all variants. The higher variants get dual front airbags, EBD, Rear Parking Sensors, Speed Alert System and Seat belt reminder.

On the outside, the 2019 Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 gets a redesigned front bumper and a new honeycomb mesh grille. The ‘800’ badging has been removed at the back, so that it looks identical to the Alto K10.

Interior revisions include a new audio system with USB and Aux, new steering wheel borrowed from the Alto K10, dual-tone dashboard and a new instrument console from the older generation.

The bookings for the updated hatchback have commenced at some dealerships. We expect a launch shortly, in a week or two.

The updated Alto 800 will continue with the same engine. The 796cc three-cylinder engine delivers 47 BHP and 69 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Recently, similar changes on the Alto K10 were spotted. Earlier, it was widely speculated that Alto 800 might be discontinued post April 2019. Seems like it would be still available.

We expect a price hike under Rs 10000, to keep its prices nearly the same. Currently, it is priced starting from Rs 2.67 Lakhs to Rs 3.93 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
