New TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has been spied testing in Tamil Nadu. Based on the spy shots, it gets a new split LED headlamp and some cosmetic upgrades.

TVS has started testing the new Apache RTR 200 4V, near its plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. It won’t be a completely new one but is likely to get some cosmetic upgrades, a LED headlamp and new colour options.

The front shot of the bike says that it gets split LED headlamps, different light for low beam and high beam. The outgoing version gets halogen lamps with LED position lamps. The RTR 160 4V also gets the same setup.

Further, there might be some revisions to the fuel tank, tank shrouds and other body parts. We can expect a new Bluetooth-enabled instrument console on the new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.

In an earlier report, we got to know that TVS is planning to equip the Apaches with a Bluetooth-enabled instrument console, inspired by the Ntorq 125. That would make the RTR 200 4V, the first in its segment.

As we know, the RTR 200 4V is currently available in Carburettor variant, as the FI version has not been upgraded with ABS. The Carb variant comes with a dual-channel ABS as standard fitment.

Most likely, the test mule here is the Fuel-injected version, which will be the BS-6 version. So, the new RTR 200 4V is a sure shot to get the BS-6 compliant engine. The Carb variant is likely to be discontinued post-April 2020.

It will continue with the same 199.5cc oil-cooled engine, that produces 20.5 BHP at 8500 RPM and 18.1 Nm of peak torque at 7000 RPM. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox with a race-tuned slipper clutch.

The suspension is handled by KYB telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the back. As said, braking is handled by roto petal disc brakes at both the ends with dual-channel ABS with RLP (Rear Lift Off Protection) control.

With the new changes onboard, the prices of the new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V are going to increase by around Rs 10,000. Currently, it is priced at Rs 1.11 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), for the Carb ABS variant.
