Mahindra XEV 9e BE 6 3000 Deliveries

Mahindra delivers 3,000 electric Origin SUVs across India, with strong demand for top variants of XEV 9e and BE 6. Adds new drive mode to ease transition for first-time EV buyers.

Mahindra has completed over 3000 deliveries of its all-electric Origin SUVsโ€”the XEV 9e and BE 6. The milestone comes just weeks after customer deliveries began on March 20, 2025.

Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 Top Variants in High Demand

The response to Mahindraโ€™s electric SUV lineup has been strong. A majority of buyers are choosing the top-spec Pack Three variant. Current booking trends show 59% of customers prefer the XEV 9e, while 41% have opted for the BE 6. Due to strong demand, the waiting period now stretches up to six months in some regions. Mahindra says it is working to scale up deliveries across the country to meet demand.

Mahindra has introduced a new ‘Default’ drive mode to ease the shift to electric vehicles. It mimics the driving feel of petrol and diesel cars, helping first-time EV buyers feel more at home behind the wheel. Each delivery also includes helpful video guides. These offer tips on charging, driving efficiently, and using the vehicleโ€™s connected features.

Our View

This milestone reflects growing interest in sustainable transportation.Mahindra’s delivery of 3,000 electric Origin SUVs in just a few weeks signals a strong start for its next-gen EV lineup. With the XEV 9e and BE 6 gaining traction among early adopters, especially in their fully-loaded forms, itโ€™s clear that buyers are ready to embrace well-equipped electric alternatives, in spite of their premium positioning. Also, the addition of a ‘Default’ drive mode shows Mahindra understands the needs of first-time EV users. This should make the switch from ICE vehicles smoother. Furthermore, this milestone isnโ€™t just about numbersโ€”itโ€™s a sign that Indian consumers are warming up to electric mobility, provided it comes with the right mix of tech, comfort, and ease of use.
