Tata Nexon EV

Tata Motors has confirmed that the BS6 Nexon Facelift will be launched on January 22. The updated SUV gets cosmetic upgrades, new features and BS6 compliant engines.

The safest SUV of India, Tata Nexon is due for a big update. Through their social media channels, Tata confirmed that the BS6 Nexon Facelift is scheduled to come on January 22. That’s the date when Tata is also launching the Altroz.

BS6 Tata Nexon Facelift gets the same changes that you see on the Nexon EV. Cosmetic changes include sharper and bolder front and rear bumpers, a taller bonnet line, new and sleeker projector headlamps with new LED DRLs, a refreshed front grille and new alloy wheels.

The updated Nexon will be available in more colour options, which will be revealed soon. New features include rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, leather seats and an electric sunroof. All these will come on the top-end variant only.

Nexon will continue with the same petrol and diesel engine with BS6 compliance. Currently, it gets a 1.2 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol unit, capable of producing 110 PS and 170 Nm of peak torque. The 1.5 Litre four-cylinder diesel engine produces 110 PS and 260 Nm of torque.

The transmission options will also include the same 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT on both the engines. Although, there are some reports of Tata planning a JTP variant of the Nexon as well, but it would not be launched this year.

Changes inside the cabin will include a new flat-bottom steering wheel, a semi-digital instrument console from the Altroz, an upgraded touchscreen unit and new upholstery design. No changes are made to the dimensions of the SUV.

Our sources suggest that the BS6 Tata Nexon facelift will demand up to Rs 1.4 Lakhs extra on the diesel variants and Rs 60,000 – 90,000 more on the petrol variants. On January 22, Tata is also going to launch the Tigor and Tiago Facelift with BS6 engines.
