Toyota will unveil the Innova Hycross in India on November 25 but the MPV has already been launched in the Indonesian market.
Toyota has unveiled the Innova Hycross hybrid in Indonesia and India will get it next. Leveraging the massive popularity of the Innova Crysta in our market, Toyota thought of bringing a more SUV-ish new-gen model of the Innova. However, it must be noted that the Hycross and Crysta will both be sold alongside in our market. Perhaps, the Crysta will be geared more toward the commercial sector while the new Hycross will be the premium version of the Innova for private use.

Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid
The overall silhouette of the Hycross is a bit different from the Crysta. It is more SUV-ish in its appearance and stance. The front fascia is a bit more aggressive with sleek LED headlamps and a broad grille, the bumper is quite sporty and the fog lamp housing is unique too. On the sides, the SUV-ish traits are even more pronounced with chunky wheel arches, black side pillars, an almost flat roof, and black body cladding. It will be based on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform which makes the Hycross a monocoque vehicle with an FWD setup.

On the inside, the cabin will be much more premium than the Crysta. It will most likely feature a large touchscreen infotainment display, an electric sunroof, premium upholstery, wireless smartphone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Connectivity, dual-zone climate control, and more. A few reports also suggested that it could come with ADAS functions as well. We will have to wait a bit longer to see the exact comfort and convenience features on the Hycross.

Specs
The India-spec MPV will be available with two engine options – petrol and petrol-hybrid. The former will be a 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated engine, while the latter will be a 2.0-litre strong hybrid unit. Transmission options will include both manual and automatic units for the petrol unit. The electric-hybrid version, though, will have only automatic transmission. There won’t be a diesel option.
