A video showing a Hyderabad couple kissing while seated on the roof of a Kia Seltos through the open sunroof has gone viral. This incident occurred on the PV Narasimha Rao Expressway and was captured by someone travelling in a trailing vehicle. It’s important to note that having any body part out of a moving caris in violation of Indian traffic laws.

Mixed Reaction by Internet Users
The identity of the couple involved in this incident remains unknown. Also, any potential legal consequences against the occupants of this Kia Seltos are yet to be determined. However, their open display of affection has garnered disapproval from numerous users on social media platforms. “Hope Hyderabad Police will take action on this unsafe driving mode & Inconvenience caused to public,” an X user associated with the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) posted on the micro-blogging site. “The couple needs to book an Oyo room and do whatever they like instead of displaying their intimacy in such a weird way,” another comment read. “Taking head out of sunroof should be made illegal,” yet another said.
On the contrary, a few individuals contended that the couple’s actions were not entirely inappropriate, primarily objecting to the act of protruding from the sunroof as the only offense. “Apart from coming out of sunroof on a moving car the couple has none nothing wrong, let them enjoy their age,” wrote another user.

Even though there is no specific traffic regulation explicitly prohibiting individuals from standing inside their cars and peering out of the sunroof, Alok Kumar, the Additional Director General of Karnataka Police, stated that Section 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act empowers traffic police to impose fines on those participating in such conduct. Initially, the violation may incur a fine of up to Rs 100, but repeated offenses can lead to more substantial penalties.
