Jeep Meridian Test Drive Crashes

We keep witnessing crashes during test drive runs of vehicles and this time, a Jeep Meridian falls victim to this unfortunate situation. Meridian is the 7-seat version of the Compass. The American carmaker makes quite rugged and capable SUVs. That is why people love to drive them enthusiastically, even during the test drive runs. However, that often leads to terrible consequences as seen in this video. Now, the Meridian aims to better the Compass by offering more room for the passengers and luggage. However, this segment is dominated by the mighty Toyota Fortuner. That’s why the sales are not all that impressive. Let us take a look at the details of this latest incident.

Jeep Meridian Crashes During Test Drive

This post comes from Prateek Singh on YouTube. This channel keeps featuring content around the performances of popular cars during unfortunate incidents, as well as road safety. This time around, a case has emerged where a man was taking the test drive of the Jeep Meridian. This case emerges from Silvassa, Daman. As per the information in the video, a man was test-driving the new SUV at around 150 km/h. That is obviously not recommended. Due to some reason, the driver lost control and the vehicle ended up colliding against a divider.

It also hit two poles on the side of the road. Reportedly, there were no major injuries to the occupants. However, the exterior is quite damaged, particularly from the lower front and side sections. The entire bumper and fender area, along with side skirting is heavily damaged. The top section of the bonnet and side pillars are almost unaffected. Overall, the adverse outcome of this crash was kept at the bare minimum simply due to the build quality of the 7-seat SUV.

What We Think

Now, this is not the first time we have seen a test-drive vehicle being abused. There are no highways in India where the speed limit is 150 km/h. Looking at the visuals, we can clearly see that it is not even a 6-lane expressway. Therefore, to drive it at such high speed within the confinements of such roads is simply idiotic. Therefore, we can only advise our readers to never get involved in such cases, especially when you are test-driving a brand-new vehicle. The dealership officials should also ensure that the test drivers don’t get too adventurous. Let us hope that such things don’t repeat.
