Tesla Cybertruck deliveries are scheduled for November 30th, and they will occur at the Gigafactory Texas. This move comes as Elon Musk aims to manage and set realistic expectations for the event
Tesla has finally confirmed a delivery date for the long-anticipated Cybertruck. During the announcement of its third-quarter earnings, the company stated that the electric pickup will have its initial deliveries on November 30th at the Gigafactory located in Austin, Texas. This event will also include the revelation of pricing details, with initial projections set at $39,900 from the vehicle’s original announcement in 2019.

Ambitious Production Target Not Achievable Before 2024
During the Q3 earnings call, CEO Elon Musk expressed his intention to manage expectations regarding the production ramp-up for the Cybertruck. Musk emphasized that the goal is to produce a quarter of a million Cybertrucks annually in the future but cautioned that this ambitious target wouldn’t be achievable until after 2024. Notably, Musk also confirmed that over one million reservations have been made for the Cybertruck.
“We dug our own grave with the Cybertruck,” said Elon Musk. “Cybertruck’s one of those special products that comes along only once in a long while. And special products that come along once in a long while are just incredibly difficult to bring to market to reach volume, to be prosperous.” In recent months, we’ve witnessed Cybertruck prototypes hitting the streets, notably marked as RC (Release Candidate) vehicles for testing and development purposes. However, Tesla’s prior announcement of a Q3 delivery event did not come to fruition.

Mass Production to Commence in 2024
At the beginning of the year, Tesla outlined its production plans for the Cybertruck, with limited production slated for the summer and mass production set to commence in 2024. While the Cybertruck faced numerous delays, including those resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, Tesla managed to roll out at least one Cybertruck from the factory in July. The vehicle, originally announced in 2019, experienced a series of postponements, with the company falling short of its initial preproduction target in 2021.
