This latest video emerges from MRD Vlogs on YouTube. It captures the new Swift performing road test in Gurugram. As is the case with all test mules, it wears a heavy camouflage on its exterior. Still, the silhouette is evident in this video footage. It’s evident that the design of the upcoming Swift won’t deviate significantly from the current model. However, recent visuals from the Japanese Mobility Show suggest subtle aesthetic improvements to the hatchback’s exterior. Likewise, the interior of the new Swift is expected to boast a slightly more premium look and feel.

A significant change emerges with the introduction of a new powertrain, marking a departure from the dependable K Series engine commonly found in the Swift and other Maruti vehicles. The upcoming Z Series engine comes in various versions, and the one presented at the Japan Mobility Show is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder hybrid engine, showcasing an impressive mileage of approximately 30-35 km/l. Although the power output remains comparable to the current model, there’s a noticeable boost in torque, ensuring an even more thrilling low-end performance. We don’t expect this mill in the Indian-spec version due to cost constraints. Instead, we might get the new K-Series engine will mild hybrid tech.
