The mighty popular Hyundai Creta is about to get a new-generation avatar globally and subsequently in India
The new Hyundai Creta has been spotted testing in international markets, including the U.S. and Korea. Creta is the most successful mid-size SUV in India. It has held that spot for years now despite increasing competition. In fact, its demand is still at an all-time high, courtesy of its all-around nature. This includes things like new styling, loads of tech and convenience amenities, active and passive safety prowess and availability of multiple powertrain and transmission options. Interestingly, it is about to get even more enticing.
New Hyundai Creta Interiors Spied
The latest spy images of the new Hyundai Creta have surfaced from California, U.S. These capture a rather modern cabin with a different layout in comparison to the current-gen model. The new Creta will carry a colossal central touchscreen infotainment display, which will contain most in-car functions. As a consequence, the digital instrument cluster will shrink in size significantly. It will just carry the absolutely critical information for the driver. Apart from that, the overall cabin will feel premium due to the usage of soft-touch materials. However, the biggest update has to be the new Pleos Connect infotainment system, integrating various aspects. It will make the new Creta a Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV). It is also seen that the steering column will now host the gear lever, freeing up acres of space. Needless to mention, the active safety features will be even sharper with Level 2+ ADAS.
On the outside, the new Hyundai Creta is expected to grow in size. We have recently seen something similar with the new Kia Seltos. It will ensure that the road presence of the new Creta will be greatly enhanced. The other new elements will include a pixel-style lighting setup and the new 4-dot logo. Even the fascia will incorporate new components like the headlamps, DRLs and bumper. On the sides, we might witness new 19-inch alloy wheels, while the tail section will also be redesigned. Overall, the appearance of the new Creta will certainly be one of its key defining factors.
Expected Specs and Price
The new Hyundai Creta, in the international markets, will come with a hybrid powertrain, something many carmakers are moving towards. In addition, there will be the familiar petrol and diesel mills with manual and automatic transmission alternatives. It remains to be seen whether the Indian-spec model will offer the option of the hybrid mill since it will be more expensive than the regular versions. In any case, more details will surface in the coming months.

Having tracked the Cretaโs dominance in the mid-size SUV space for years, I believe this next-generation update is more about staying ahead than catching up. What stands out to me is Hyundaiโs shift towards a more software-driven cabin and the possibility of a hybrid powertrain, both of which reflect evolving buyer expectations. In India, where value and features drive decisions, the Creta has consistently delivered a balanced package, and this update seems to build on that strength. In my view, if priced right, it will continue to set benchmarks despite rising competition in this segment.
