Aftermarket car modification houses have become immensely popular in our market in the last few years

Updated on 13.08.2026 – Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder Aero Black Edition for our market. Note that the mid-size SUV is inspired by the Maruti Grand Vitara as part of the Suzuki-Toyota collaboration. This special edition models comes with a few aesthetic upgrades. That is typically the case with all special edition trims. The Japanese car marque aims to attract young buyers with this dark-themed model. Let us delve into details of what it entails.

The new trim gets tweaked front grille upper garnish, front spoiler, headlamp garnish, tailgate garnish, rear spoiler and exclusive ‘Aero Black’ Limited Edition badge. All these elements ensure that the mid-size SUV looks apart from the standard model considerably. It continues to get in-cabin amenities like ventilated leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and a 360-degree camera. Also, the powertrain options remain the same including 1.5-litre NA petrol and strong hybrid mills with manual and automatic transmission. Remember that the all-wheel-drive configuration is offered only with the NA petrol mill.

Maybach-Styled Toyota Hyryder Signature Edition Detailed – What’s Going On?

Originally published on 17.10.2024 – A Toyota Hyryder SUV has been spotted with Mercedes Maybach-inspired exterior elements online. The internet is full of intriguing versions of regular cars. This is yet another prime example of that. The Toyota Hyryder is the badge-engineered iteration of the Maruti Grand Vitara. It belongs to the mid-size SUV segment in our market and rivals the likes of the mighty Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, VW Taigun, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, etc. It won’t be wrong to say that this is one of the most brutally competitive categories in India. Hence, carmakers keep their best foot forward to grab new customers. For now, let us glance at the details of this case.

Maybach-Styled Toyota Hyryder Signature Edition

The specifics of this case emerge from The Car Show on YouTube. The host gives us a walkaround tour of the SUV. Right from the first look, it looks like an aftermarket modification to me even though the host is unclear about whether this is an official model or the work of a car shop. In any case, the front section of this Hyryder retains all the stock elements but gets a blue bonnet colour which extends to the roof. This is one way of creating the dual-tone paint scheme. On the sides, the large wheel arches, covered in black claddings, encapsulate broad alloy wheels with low-profile tyres. This is never something a car company will do. The dual-tone theme continues to the back section with the upper area above the LED taillamps covered in a blue shade.

On the inside, we get to see even more customizations. The entire theme inside the cabin is blue and black, The elements like door panels, dashboard and upholstery boast this unique blue material. Interestingly, there are no other aftermarket modifications. All the components and features are the same as on the stock model. This, again, goes to prove that this is not a new variant but a regular modified Toyota Hyryder by a car shop. Nevertheless, I like the overall mods the car modifier has gone for.

My View

I have come across loads of aftermarket car modifications on various mass-market products. I must mention that most car customizations are illegal in India. Hence, you must consult your local RTO before going for any alterations, particularly to the exterior. For instance, you can’t change the colour of a car without informing the authorities and getting it official on the registration certificate. Therefore, I would like to urge our readers to be mindful of such things prior to spending huge sums of money on hardcore aftermarket modifications.
