The popular Tata Nexon facelift has received a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. It has been able to get 5 stars in both categories – Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection. That is an official validation for the build quality of this compact SUV. Note that even the pre-facelift version of the Nexon had a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. But that was around 5 years ago with the old testing protocols. GNCAP updated its protocols thereafter. Still, the Nexon was able to successfully qualify for a full score in both categories. It attained the second-highest GNCAP score for adult and child safety in #SaferCarsForIndia testing to date. Here are the details.

Author’s Note

Tata Nexon, in its original iteration, became the first made-in-India vehicle to ever score a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP back in 2018. In fact, that is what made the Indian car owners conscious about the safety ratings of the cars. That influenced their decision making when it comes to buying new cars. Since then, many vehicles boast at full 5-star rating. In fact, that resulted in the inception of India’s indigenous safety testing agency, Bharat NCAP. Nexon was among the last models to be tested by Global NCAP. Going forward, all Indian cars will be tested at the Bharat NCAP. This 5-star GNCAP rating will be another feather in Tata Nexon’s already decorated cap.
