Hyundai Alcazar facelift was seen testing in South Korea. Alcazar, a 7-seat SUV, shares its foundation with the renowned Creta. It swiftly garnered favor in our market for its commanding road presence and feature-rich interior. It faces direct competition from its sibling, the Kia Carens. This segment has become increasingly congested, with SUVs from different categories overlapping. The Carens recently got its 2024 model-year update. Now, it is time for Hyundai to bring in the new Alcazar, which will borrow many elements from the new Creta. The 6-seat/7-seat SUV is slated for the launch later this year.

Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Spied Testing
These latest spy images showcase the Alcazar in a camouflaged avatar. The front fascia gives away its true identity. There are LED DRLs on the bonnet, and the main headlamps are positioned on the extreme edges of the bumper. Also, the front grille is massive and the skid plate accentuates the sporty nature of the SUV. On the sides, the alloy wheels are striking. In fact, the side profile is a clear indication that it will carry most elements from the existing model. Even at the rear, the profile will differ slightly from the Creta. That is true for the front profile as well. Hence, people can easily differentiate between the Alcazar and Creta.
Specs
It will be interesting to see which powertrain options the Hyundai Alcazar facelift will come with. Currently, there is either a 1.5-litre turbo GDi petrol engine, which makes 160 PS and 253 Nm, or a 1.5-litre turbo diesel mill, which churns out a familiar 116 PS and 250 Nm of peak power and torque. There will be options to choose from, either a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT, or an automatic transmission. The existing model retails between Rs 16.77 lakh and Rs 21.28 lakh, ex-showroom. The facelift will command a slight premium over these prices.

The Alcazar leverages the success of Creta in India. That was the intention behind its inception. Thankfully, it paid off as it is one of the most popular vehicles in its segment.
