After using the vehicle for 3 years, MG is offering a buyback plan where the customers will get back 60% value of the car’s original price if it meets basic maintenance conditions.
Also, the first year of public charging is free of cost if you purchase the Windsor before December 31, 2024. Therefore, you need to calculate all these things in advance to understand the actual cost of the EV. If you don’t want the hassle of renting the battery, you can even buy it upfront. In terms of specifications, the MG Windsor EV comes with a 38 kWh battery pack with LFP chemistry and Prismatic Cell Structure. This feeds the electric motor which produces a decent 136 PS and 200 Nm of peak power and torque. The company claims a range of 331 km on a single charge. This is enough to run everyday errands. With an efficient Battery Management System (BMS), the performance of the battery is optimised even during extreme weather conditions. The top speed is a decent 150 km/h. The Indian auto giant claims an MIDC-1 range of 375 km and 456 km, respectively, on a single charge under ideal conditions. With a 50 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be juiced up from 10% to 80% in just 50 minutes. Hence, the XUV400 is certainly the most powerful of the two.

Design and Dimensions
The MG Windsor EV bears a crossover appearance rather than a typical SUV. But that is not a bad thing because it has a unique and distinct character. At the front, it gets an LED light bar covering the width of the bonnet section and culminating in LED DRLs on either side. In the lower half of the bumper is where headlamps are positioned on the extreme edges. There is a hint of adventure with a skid plate. On the sides, the EV gets 18-inch aero alloy wheels along with black side pillars. The charging socket is placed at the front left fender. At the rear, the connected LED taillamps, and a sturdy skid plate section complete is road presence.
On the other hand, the Mahindra XUV400 wears a more traditional SV silhouette. The overall design is inspired by the pre-update XUV300. At the front, it gets prominent 7-shaped LED DRLs with LED headlamps and a sealed-off grille section. The bumper is sporty and the fog lamp houses are clearly demarcated. On the sides, the extended wheelbase, in comparison to the regular XUV300, is evident. I like the alloy wheels and black side pillars with roof rails. At the rear, we get to witness the split-LED design along with a chunky bumper. All in all, the XUV400 looks decent.
