New Mahindra BE6 Ebony Edition Teased Ahead of Debut

The special edition version of the eminent electric coupe SUV has been teased by the Indian automobile giant

The new Mahindra BE6 Ebony Edition has been teased online ahead of its official debut later today. The BE6 represents the best that Mahindra has to offer. Based on the INGLO platform, the latest breed of electric SUVs from Mahindra is designed for the world. In fact, to bifurcate its operations, the EVs will be sold under two sub-brands – XEV and BE. The initial response to these electric cars has been quite impressive. For now, let us take a look at the details of this teaser.

Mahindra officially released the teaser on its social media handles. The details are scarce, but the reports about Mahindra launching a sporty iteration with an all-black theme have been circulating for a while now. Hence, we can safely assume that there will solely be aesthetic alterations with the Ebony Edition. This could include a black exterior theme and a black interior layout with red inserts. The Mahindra BE 6 comes with two battery pack options – 59 kWh and 79 kWh. These are good for a range of 535 km and 682 km (550 km on WLTP), respectively. The power and torque figures range from 228 hp / 380 Nm for the smaller battery to 281 hp / 380 Nm for the larger one. The user can choose between three drive modes – Range, Everyday and Race. Using a 175 kW DC fast charger, the larger battery pack goes from 20% to 80% in a mere 20 minutes. In the most powerful configuration, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h comes up in just 6.7 seconds. The prices start at Rs 18.90 lakh and go up to Rs 27.65 lakh, ex-showroom.
