It is interesting to see what the base models of each of these SUVs offer
In this post, we compare the Maruti Victoris Lxi and Grand Vitara Sigma on the basis of specs, features, price, dimensions and design. It’s rare to see one brand sell two separate products in the same space, but India’s biggest carmaker often does things differently. The key difference here is simple – the Grand Vitara comes through Maruti Suzuki’s premium Nexa network, while the Victoris will be sold at Arena outlets. With more than 3,000 Arena showrooms spread across the country, the Victoris is clearly aimed at reaching the masses. For now, let’s dive into what sets these two SUVs apart.
Maruti Victoris Lxi vs Grand Vitara Sigma – Price
The biggest talking point in our market has to be the prices. The on-road cost (Delhi) of the new Maruti Victoris Lxi is Rs 12,16,783. On the other hand, the Maruti Grand Vitara Sigma retails for Rs 12,98,385, on-road (Delhi). Hence, the new Victoris has a clear edge in this regard. In any case, both these are attractive prices for new car buyers.

Maruti Victoris Lxi vs Grand Vitara Sigma – Specs and Mileage
Both these vehicles share the powertrain and transmission options. In general, there are two mills on offer – a mild hybrid petrol and a strong hybrid petrol. With the Victoris, the mild hybrid is also available with a CNG version. Nevertheless, the base trims of both these SUVs carry a K15C 1.5-litre 4-cylinder mild hybrid petrol engine, which generates a familiar 103 PS and 139 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. The base models pair this mill with a 5-speed manual transmission. The fuel efficiency of the Victoris is 21.18 km/l, while that of the Grand Vitara is 21.11 km/l. Hence, there isn’t much to choose between these two.

Design and Dimensions
Now let’s talk about the styling of these two SUVs. While they share the same base, each carries its own unique design language. The all-new Maruti Victoris brings a fresh look to attract today’s buyers. At the front, it wears sleek LED DRLs linked by a chrome bar with the Suzuki logo at the centre. Just below sit the LED headlamps, and the bottom half is dominated by a chunky bumper with a skid plate. On the sides, squared wheel arches with black cladding wrap around eye-catching dual-tone alloys. Roof rails, blacked-out pillars, and a sharp rear profile add more character. At the back, it sports connected LED tail lamps, a shark-fin antenna, a roof spoiler, and a muscular bumper with a protective skid plate. Altogether, it projects a confident road presence, something Indian SUV lovers truly look for.
The Maruti Grand Vitara, meanwhile, also shows off a modern and premium style. At the bonnet edge, you’ll find tri-unit LED DRLs, while the main LED headlights are placed neatly on the bumper corners. Taking centre stage is a bold front grille with a chrome Suzuki badge and a rugged skid plate below. From the side, stylish alloys, roof rails, and thick body cladding complete the SUV look. Swinging to the rear, it features connected LED tail lamps joined by a glass strip that runs across the width. All said, the Grand Vitara easily stands tall as one of the most upscale models in Maruti Suzuki’s lineup.

My View
Now, I understand that choosing between these two can be quite tricky. They share most elements, including the features and powertrains. However, the fact that the Victoris is sold via the Arena dealership, whereas the Grand Vitara is available via the Nexa showrooms, can influence the decision of the buyers. If you live in a Tier 3 or Tier 4 city, you might not have had access to the Grand Vitara until now because the number of Nexa showrooms is still limited (as per Maruti Suzuki standards). However, with the Arena dealerships, the Victoris will be available even in the remote corners of the country. Therefore, you can make your choice as per your circumstances. Just remember, you can’t go wrong with either of these.
