The electric scooter market in India has been growing quite rapidly in the last few years
The Suzuki e-ACCESS is one of those scooters that doesn’t try hard to look futuristic. In fact, its slightly quirky face almost reminds you of a Japanese anime character – simple, expressive, and a little unusual. But spend some time with it, and you’ll realize that Suzuki has focused more on engineering and usability than on making the e-ACCESS look flashy. And that philosophy becomes clearer once you start riding it.
Suzuki e-ACCESS – Design & Build Quality
The e-ACCESS has a rather unconventional design, especially at the front. The sharp apron, integrated indicators, and compact LED headlights give it a distinctive appearance. It may not be everyoneโs cup of tea, but it certainly has character. More importantly, the fit and finish are impressive. The scooter feels properly put together, with solid panels and a premium overall feel. This is where Suzukiโs experience with conventional scooters shows. The TFT display is another highlight. This is clean, easy to read, and, importantly, remains clearly visible during the daytime. At night, it is equally easy on the eyes and gives the scooter a modern touch.

Suzuki e-ACCESS – Ride & handling
This is where the e-ACCESS genuinely surprised us. The ride quality is properly solid. Take it over broken roads, potholes, or rough patches, and the suspension does a very good job of soaking up the imperfections. The scooter doesn’t feel nervous or unsettled when the road surface gets bad. The seat deserves special mention too. It is comfortable and has that familiar, well-cushioned feel that reminds us of the petrol-powered Suzuki ACCESS 125. What we particularly liked was how natural the e-ACCESS feels.
There is no unnecessary twitchiness, and, more importantly, there is very little of that delayed acceleration feeling that you sometimes experience on electric two-wheelers. The throttle response feels predictable and progressive. In a way, it behaves like an ICE scooter – and for a rider accustomed to petrol-powered two-wheelers, thatโs actually the compliment. Handling is equally impressive; the scooter changes direction easily and feels planted through corners and remains composed when the road gets rough. After riding several electric scooters, the e-ACCESS gave us one of the most natural riding experiences weโve had on an electric two-wheeler.

Suzuki e-ACCESS – Real-world range
Suzuki claims an AIS-040 range of 95 km from the 3.072 kWh LFP battery. But in our real-world testing, the numbers were considerably lower. We started with a full charge and used the scooter across city traffic, open roads, and highway riding, rather than trying to extract maximum range through hypermiling. Our real-world figure comes in at 65-70 km on a full charge. That means you should realistically plan around 70 km of usable everyday range, with around 70-75 km possible depending on riding conditions, traffic, speed, and riding style. For a city commuter, this can still be perfectly adequate. But if youโre expecting the advertised 95 km range in normal mixed riding, our test suggests keeping your expectations in check.
Suzuki e-ACCESS – Price & Verdict
And then we come to the biggest question – price. The Suzuki e-ACCESS is currently priced at around 1.89 lakh ex-showroom, which puts it on the expensive side of the mainstream electric-scooter market. There is no doubt that this is a well-engineered and well-built scooter. The ride quality is excellent, the handling is predictable, the throttle response feels natural, and the overall build gives you the feeling of a product designed for long-term ownership. But the range and price do raise questions. If you want an electric scooter that feels solid, mature, and natural to ride and you value the reassurance of a Japanese manufacturer. The e-ACCESS makes a convincing argument. It may not be the most futuristic electric scooter out there. Instead, Suzuki has taken a different approach – make an EV that feels like a proper Suzuki first and an electric scooter second.

Editor’s Note
The Suzuki e-ACCESS takes a noticeably different approach to electric scooters, focusing more on familiar ride quality, solid build and everyday usability rather than an overly futuristic design. After riding it, I was particularly impressed by the suspension, predictable throttle response and planted handling, which make it feel remarkably natural for anyone moving from a petrol-powered scooter. However, the real-world range of around 65-70 km is significantly lower than Suzuki’s claimed 95 km figure, while the nearly โน1.89 lakh ex-showroom price makes it a fairly expensive proposition. The e-ACCESS is therefore best suited to buyers who value Japanese engineering, mature road manners and build quality, and are willing to accept the compromises in range and pricing. – Yatharth Chauhan, Managing Editor
