2018 Honda CB Shine SP launched

The 2018 Honda CB Shine SP was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. This commuter bike competes against the likes of Bajaj Discover 124 and Hero Glamour F1.

Honda has launched the 2018 iteration of the CB Shine SP in India. We saw the latest iteration of the commuter motorcycle at the 2018 Auto Expo. The prices for the 2018 Honda CB Shine SP start at INR 62,032. The two-wheeler is available in a total of three variants. Price for the disk brake version is INR 64,518. The CBS variant costs INR 66,508 to own. The updates given to this commuter motorcycle are largely cosmetic. All the mechanical bits remain identical to the existing model.

2018 Honda CB Shine SP launched

Thye 2018 Honda CB Shine SP gets an updated tank design along with extended shrouds. Also included are new body decals. The commuter motorcycle gets an updated instrument cluster. The new unit is a digital-analogue display which has a service indicator along with a clock. Other features like the side panels, rear section and the alloy wheel design remain identical.

The 2018 CB Shine SP comes with the same engine as before. The engine is a 124.73 cc, single cylinder unit and uses air-colling. The power output of this motor stands at 10.16 BHP at 7500 rpm with a peak torque of 10.30 NM available at 5500 rpm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is on offer. The commuter bike gets a fuel tank of 10.5-liters.

The front suspension of the 2018 Honda CB Shine SP employs telescopic forks. The Rear suspension gets twin-shocks. The base variant gets 130 mm drum brakes up-front. The disk and the CBS variants are equipped with 240 mm disk brakes. The bike gets 18-inch alloy wheels. For better mileage, the commuter bike comes with 80-section low resistance tyres.

The 2018 Honda CB Shine SP is available in a total of five different colours. These includeย black, athletic blue metallic, imperial red metallic, geny grey metallic and pearl siren blue.

The Honda CB Shine and the Shine SP are amongst one of the best selling commuter bikes. The updates make the Shine SP an all-together better package coupled with the bikes’ decent fuel economy. Primarily, this two-wheeler will rival against the likes of Bajaj Discover 125 and the Hero Glamour F1.
