Hyundai Elite i20 CVT Launched In India; Prices Start At INR 7.04 Lakhs

The Hyundai Elite i20 CVT variant has finally made its debut in India. The automatic gearbox will be available in two trims, the Magna Executive and the Asta. Price starts at a segment best, 7.04 lakh (ex-showroom). Automatic gearbox only available in the 1.2-litre petrol engine.

After a long wait, Hyundai Motors India has today finally launched the CVT automatic variant of the 2018 Elite i20 hatchback in India. This premium hatchback’s 2018 mid-life facelift iteration made its Indian debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. There the company executives confirmed that the car will get an automatic variant soon. Hyundai has played it brilliantly with the CVT variant of this hatchback. It comes in two different variants. There are the Magna Executive and the Asta. Now the prices start at INR 7.04 lakh, which is the best in the segment.

CVT is fitted on the Magna variant and the top of the line Asta variant. The Asta CVT will now be the top-end model. The petrol variant of the car runs on a 1.2 Litre Kappa VTVT engine that produces 80 BHP worth of power and 114 Nm worth of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel variant gets a 1.4 Litre U2 CRDi engine that produces 88 BHP Worth of power and 220 Nm worth of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

Hyundai Elite i20 CVT will mostly have the same features and technology which are in the current one. The current one features projector headlamps, Electric ORVMs, cooled glove box, reverse parking sensors with a camera and now the CVT. In terms of safety, it comes with dual airbags with ABS and EBD as a standard fitting. Top variant gets 6 airbags and parking assists with rear camera and sensors.

The Hyundai Elite i20 CVT has been priced at Rs 7.04 Lakhs for the Magna CVT and Rs 8.16 Lakhs for the Asta CVT (ex-showroom). Currently, it takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz. All of them offered AMT on their cars and i20 was the last one to get an AMT.
